Legion Vs Colonies Assembly Pt.2 - Lionheart /A

This time, I will be assembling one of the more fiddly models in the Star Legion line, the Lionheart /A. To start, grab some super glue, flush cutters, and a file.

Using flat end of the cutters, carefully cut the accessory pieces from the sprue. if the parts near the middle are hard to reach, go ahead and snip the sprue in half.

Use your file to smooth out the rough edges left by the sprue and mold lines. This is mostly aesthetic, so go into as much detail as you like.

You might find that the side panels are bent. You should be able to gently straighten them out with your fingers

Attach the track guards, with a drop or two of glue on top of the tracks.

I find it easiest to attach the turret side armor be holding the turret sideways and dropping the piece onto a drop of glue.

The same strategy works for the sponson guns if you decide to add them. Put a drop of glue on the square attachment point and nudge the gun into place.

You can add a 1/16 x 1/32 magnet to the top and bottom slots of the turret, but for now, the Lionheart is ready for the paint shop!

Legion Vs. Colonies Assembly Pt. 1 - Lynx

This is the first in what will be a series of posts that I hope will help you assemble a few of the trickier models
Picture
One of the leg poses for the Lynx walker has the hip joint tilted back. This is an error, but can be easily corrected. You will need a pair of thin pliers and a rubber band.
Picture
Wrap the rubber band around the hip. Here, I snipped it in half first, but in the future I would recommend just doubling it over.
Picture
Next, take the pliers and line it up with the rubber band, and settle it carefully just in front of the top circle. Using a light grip, very slowly begin pushing on the legs until they are rotated back in line with the hip.
Picture
Don't worry too much if the top pin a little squished like here.  Just clean up any damaged parts with a hobby knife.

That's it! You are ready to add the hull and weapons. I hope this was helpful, be sure to check back for more tips!
